Terms and conditions of sale
Version in force on 18 October 2026
1. Purpose and scope
These terms and conditions of sale govern the sale, on the site https://ai-for-construction.com, of the digital content described in article 3, to consumer buyers and to business buyers.
A consumer is any natural person acting for purposes outside their trade, business, craft or profession. A business buyer is any buyer acting within such an activity. The provisions specific to business buyers are set out in article 14.
Placing an order implies acceptance of the terms in force on the date of the order. They are available at any time on the site, and a link to them appears in the order confirmation e-mail.
2. Seller
- Amos HOUEWATONOU, self-published author established in France
- E-mail: sales@ai-for-construction.com
3. Product
The product sold is digital content supplied without a tangible medium, entitled “AI for Architecture and Engineering — A Practical Guide for Engineers, Architects and Technicians”. It comprises:
- the book in PDF format (333 pages), copy- and edit-protected, printable;
- the prompt collection in Word and PDF formats;
- spreadsheets in Excel format;
- a read-me file.
Everything is delivered as a single compressed (zip) file of approximately 14 MB.
Requirements: software able to extract a zip archive, a PDF reader, and software compatible with the Word and Excel formats.
The content sets out a working method. It replaces neither the legislation, regulations and standards in force, nor the advice of a qualified professional. The examples originate from French practice; the requirements applicable to your own projects must be checked locally.
4. Price
The price is €49.00 including tax.VAT not applicable, article 293 B of the French General Tax Code.
The applicable price is the one displayed on the site at the time of the order. No delivery charge is applied. Payment is taken in euros; if your payment method is denominated in another currency, your bank or PayPal may apply its own conversion rate and charges.
5. Ordering
No account is created. The buyer provides a first name, a last name, an e-mail address, a telephone number and a postal address. The telephone number and postal address pre-fill the card payment form and appear in the confirmation e-mail.
Before paying, the buyer sees a summary of the order and its total price, can correct the information entered, and accepts these terms by ticking the box provided. For consumer buyers, this acceptance includes the agreements described in article 9.
The order is placed by choosing a payment method, under the wording “Order with an obligation to pay”. The contract is concluded once payment is confirmed.
The seller sends the buyer an order confirmation e-mail, which constitutes the durable medium confirming the contract and the agreements given. The contract is concluded in English.
6. Payment
The price is payable in full when the order is placed, by PayPal or by payment card (Visa, Mastercard, CB).
Payment is processed by PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22-24 boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg. The seller has no access to card details and stores none.
The order is only fulfilled once PayPal has confirmed payment.
7. Delivery of the digital content
Once payment is confirmed, a link to download the zip file is shown on the confirmation page and sent to the e-mail address provided.
- The link is valid for 7 days from the moment it becomes active.
- Downloads are unlimited during that period.
- The link is active immediately once payment is confirmed.
If the e-mail does not arrive, check your spam folder and then contact the seller at sales@ai-for-construction.com. If the link has expired, the seller provides a new one free of charge on request, sent from the e-mail address used for the order.
It is for the buyer to keep a copy of the downloaded files.
8. Right of withdrawal (consumer buyers)
Consumers have fourteen days from the conclusion of the contract to withdraw, without giving a reason and without bearing any cost other than those provided for by law (articles L221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code; Directive 2011/83/EU for buyers in the European Union; the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for buyers in the United Kingdom).
To exercise this right, notify the seller of your decision by an unambiguous statement, by e-mail to sales@ai-for-construction.com or by post to the address given in article 2, using or not using the model form at the end of these terms.
The seller refunds all sums paid no later than fourteen days after receiving the decision to withdraw, using the same means of payment as the one used for the order, unless the consumer expressly agrees to another means. A refund deactivates the download link.
9. Exception to the right of withdrawal for digital content
Under article L221-28, 13° of the French Consumer Code (article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU; regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for the supply of digital content not supplied on a tangible medium where all three of the following conditions are met:
- the consumer has given prior express consent for performance to begin before the end of the withdrawal period;
- the consumer has expressly acknowledged the loss of the right of withdrawal;
- the consumer has received confirmation of those agreements on a durable medium.
These agreements are given when the order is placed: by ticking the box accepting these terms, the consumer requests that supply of the digital content begin as soon as payment is confirmed, before the end of the withdrawal period, and expressly acknowledges the loss of the right of withdrawal. Their confirmation, with the date and time at which they were given, appears in the order confirmation e-mail.
10. Legal guarantee of conformity (consumer buyers)
The seller must supply digital content that conforms to the contract and is liable for any lack of conformity under articles L224-25-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code (Directive (EU) 2019/770; for buyers in the United Kingdom, the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
Where the content does not conform, the consumer is entitled to have it brought into conformity or, failing that, to a price reduction or to termination of the contract, under the conditions and within the time limits set by those provisions.
Claims should be sent to sales@ai-for-construction.com, describing the defect observed.
11. Licence of use and intellectual property
The book and all the files supplied are protected by copyright. Buying them transfers no intellectual property right to the buyer.
The purchase grants a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence: the content is intended for the buyer’s own use only. It is prohibited to:
- copy the files, except for a personal backup;
- share them, in particular with colleagues or within an organisation;
- resell, rent out or assign them;
- publish them or make them available online, in whole or in part;
- circumvent the protection measures of the PDF file.
Printing the PDF is permitted for the buyer’s personal use.
A team licence, allowing use by several people within the same organisation, is available on request at sales@ai-for-construction.com. Its terms are the subject of a separate agreement.
Any unauthorised use constitutes infringement (articles L335-2 et seq. of the French Intellectual Property Code).
12. Liability
The content sets out a working method and examples. It replaces neither the legislation, regulations and standards in force, nor the advice of a qualified professional. Technical, contractual and regulatory decisions taken by the buyer in the course of their activity remain their own responsibility.
The seller is not liable for non-performance caused by the buyer, by an unforeseeable and insurmountable act of a third party, or by force majeure.
These provisions do not limit the rights the consumer derives from mandatory statutory provisions, in particular the legal guarantees of conformity.
13. Personal data
Data collected when an order is placed is processed in accordance with the privacy policy.
14. Provisions specific to business buyers
- Articles 8, 9 and 10 do not apply to business buyers: they do not benefit from the consumer right of withdrawal.
- An invoice is issued on request. A business buyer who wishes it to show a company name, address and VAT number should send them by e-mail to sales@ai-for-construction.com within 30 days of the order.
- The licence described in article 11 attaches to the natural person who uses the content. Use by several members of staff requires a team licence.
- The seller’s liability towards a business buyer is limited to the amount paid for the order concerned, except in the case of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
15. Customer service and complaints
Any complaint should be addressed to sales@ai-for-construction.com or by post to the address given in article 2.
16. Consumer mediation
Under articles L612-1 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, a consumer may, free of charge, refer the matter to a consumer mediator, after first trying to resolve the dispute directly with the seller by means of a written complaint. The mediator’s details are provided on request at sales@ai-for-construction.com.
17. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by French law.
For consumer buyers, the choice of French law does not deprive them of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence. A consumer may bring proceedings before the courts of the place where they were domiciled when the contract was concluded or when the harmful event occurred, or before any other court having jurisdiction.
For business buyers, any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the courts of the seller’s place of domicile.
